Donate Your Unused Airline Miles

Through a partnership with the Fisher House Foundation and individual airlines, airline tickets are available for service men and women wounded or injured in Iraq or Afghanistan or for their families to visit them in the hospital.

At this time, Airtran Airways, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, Midwest Airlines, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines, and US Airways accept donations from their passengers.

Airtran Airways

You may donate your A+ Rewards Credits online at www.aplusrewards.com (requires a login and password). Select the "request rewards" link and enter the number of A+ Rewards credits to donate to "Fisher House Hero Miles."

American Airlines

American Airlines and its custommers have donated more than 130 million miles to Operation Hero Miles and the Fisher House Foundation.

Delta Air Lines

Delta and its SkyMiles members were the first to support the military's Operation Iraqi Freedom Rest and Relaxation program and have donated more than 250 million miles to the program.

To donate your Delta SkyMiles, please call 1-800-325-3999 and have your account information available. You may also use the Delta Donation Website and provide your SkyMiles number, name and phone number using the email link on their website.

Midwest Airlines

Midwest Airlines has donated over 1,000,000 miles to Operation Hero Miles and the Fisher House Foundation.

To donate your miles, please use their online donation form and specify the Fisher House Foundation in the Organization field.


Northwest Airlines

Northwest Airlines invites WorldPerks members to donate airline miles to support the work of the Fisher House Foundation assist eligible family members of hospitalized service men and women to visit them in medical facilities.

To make a donation, please call toll-free at 1-800-327-2881 and have your WorldPerks account and PIN number ready. You may also donate miles online.

To make a donation, please visit the US Airways donation form, select the "Fisher House Foundation", enter you account information and the number of miles then press the submit button.


Directions for Donating Credit Card Frequent Flyer Points

  1. Call your credit card company to determine which airlines they allow you to convert points to miles with

  2. Compare your credit card's list with the Fisher House "Hero Miles" airline partners currently accepting mileage donations

  3. Convert points to miles through credit card company. You must have a Mileage Account with whichever airline you are going to donate the miles to

  4. If you need to set up a new account with one of the airlines it can be done directly through their toll free number

Each airline partner has a specific process to donate miles - information is available above.

Tax Deduction Information

The Internal Revenue Service does not recognize donations of frequent flyer miles as tax a deduction since taxes were not collected from individuals when they earned the miles. For further information, we suggest that you consult IRS Publication 526 and/or your personal tax advisor.



This site is operated in conjunction with the Fisher House Foundation to promote the donation of airline miles for members of the US Armed Forces.
